PC is a bisphenol-A based amorphous polymer offering glass-like optical clarity, very high impact resistance, and heat resistance between 120-135 °C. Due to the stiffness-toughness combination provided by carbonate bonds, it is used in safety equipment, optical components, and technical applications requiring high impact resistance.
